What is Android Technology Operating System (OS)

The Android OS is a Linux kernel based open source mobile operating system. Android was released as the Apache v2 open source license. Android was primarily designed for touchscreen mobile devices such as smartphones and tablets, and today it has made its way to all type of smartphones in the successive users. This is the best-selling OS in tablets and smartphones since 2013 and is also the OS installed on most smartphones in the world.

History: – October 2003, in Andy Rubin (Co-founder of Danger), Rich Miner (Co-founder of Wildfire Communications, Inc.), Nick Sears (once VP at T-Mobile), and Chris White in Palo Alto, California Headed design and interface development at WebTV) was setup on Android, Inc. When they tried to set up android and made plans to create an advanced operating system for digital cameras, they later realized that the digital camera market is not much, for which time and money has been invested. Go. This was the time when the mobile phone market started to take hold and gradually the need for a smartphone was felt. Everyone decided that the operating system should be created for the smartphone which would be the competitor of Symbian and Microsoft Windows Mobile.

In this phase, when all these people were working on android, Google went to them and offered them to acquire android and later on 2005, Google acquired Android Inc for $ 50 million. At that time Rubin, Miner and White stayed at the company after the acquisition. Subsequently, Rubin collaborated with his Google team based on Linux kernel based mobile device platform design.

Android in Market – Android in Market – Google approached handset makers and carriers and started marketing Android and assured them that they would provide a flexible, up-gradable and best system, and soon collaborated with HTC with Android In October 2008, first commercially smartphone HTC Dream (with Android 1.0 OS) released. Version 1.0 and 1.1 were released when no specific code name was added, but after April 2009 (1.5 and later) versions were given confectionery-themed code names such as 1.5 to Cupcake, 1.6 Called donut etc
